El Poble Nou de Benitatxell reinforces its festivities with two Violet Points to promote respectful celebrations

The Council of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell will enable two Violet Points during the patron saint festivities in honor of Santa Maria Magdalena with the aim of promoting celebrations free of sexist violence.

The devices will be operational on the nights of July 24th and August 1st. These days correspond to the day of San Jaime, in which there will be a parade of carts and the great mobile disco Falkata on Tour, and to the day of the Quintadas, when a large influx of people is expected for the orchestra La Flama and DJ Javi Boss.

The Violet Points are spaces for information, awareness and attention addressed at preventing sexist violence in leisure contexts, as well as offering guidance and accompaniment in any situation of risk or aggression. In addition to direct care, these spaces carry out an important task of raising awareness among citizens, promoting relationships based on respect, equality and consent.

This initiative has been benefited with € 2,420 from the call for subsidies for equal opportunities and the prevention of violence against women of the Diputación de Alicante.
