We are writing to inform you that, after finishing a fundamental stage of the redevelopment and improvement works of our town, next Thursday, April 2nd, the definitive reopening to vehicle traffic of la Pau, Major and la Mar streets will take place.
With these actions, which have adhered to the criteria of the European DUS 5,000 fund subsidy, our urban center takes a qualitative leap towards a more sustainable and human town model. Below, we detail the operating rules and recommendations to guarantee good coexistence:
We want to remind you that, despite being free-circulation roads, the single-platform design and the semi-pedestrian character are primarily intended for the neighborhood, authorized vehicles, business users, and loading and unloading tasks.
These streets have not been designed as general thoroughfares, but as the heart of our town. They are spaces conceived for the elderly to stroll peacefully, for children to play in the street again, and to recover activity and coexistence in our streets and squares. Therefore, we appeal to your responsibility: it is essential to circulate at a reduced speed suitable for an environment where the pedestrian always has priority.
To facilitate commercial activity and daily management, specific parking areas for customers and loading and unloading have been set up:
In both cases, the maximum parking time will be 15 minutes. We ask for maximum civility and respect for these limits to guarantee fluidity and so that all users can benefit. During the first weeks of adaptation, the Local Police will be at the service of the citizens and will carry out a pedagogical task to inform and resolve doubts about the new operation.
As a symbol of this recovery of public space, the Wednesday street market returns to la Pau street until further notice.
