AVIB, the Association of International Neighbours of Benitachell, is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with a spectacular end-of-summer party in collaboration with the Council of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell.

This Sunday, September 7th,  El Puig municipal building (opposite Lady Elizabeth School) will host an event from midday to 6pm with a wide range of leisure and gastronomic activities. The association will offer barbecue, paella, fideuà, snacks and drinks at affordable prices, and there will also be a tombola and live music and dancing. Throughout the day, there will be performances by Juan Sáez Guitarrista, the Grup de Danses Morro Falquí of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, FFLA Jazzband and Toni Catalá.

AVIB is an important community of international residents that was founded at El Poble Nou de Benitatxell in 2000 with the objective of promoting multiculturalism, neighbourly ties, the integration of residents into local daily life, and the exchange of relationships and information between residents and public and private institutions. It currently has 180 members of different nationalities and, through its board of directors and its president, Dirk Rheindorf, acts as a spokesperson for the requests and demands of its members.

Through its website www.avib.org, it keeps all members informed about local news, professionals and services in the area, discounts, etc. It also holds monthly meetings on the last Thursday of every month (except August and December) and organises other activities such as cooking classes, excursions, trips, walks, wine tastings, board and card games, etc.
