Major financial investment for El Poble Nou de Benitatxell. Thanks to the agreement signed last Friday between the Generalitat Valenciana, through EPSAR, and the Diputación de Alicante to invest more than 15.5 million euros in water reuse, the municipality will receive the significant sum of 2.2 million euros (VAT included) to improve the sewerage systems of 20 treatment plants located in urbanisations of the municipality.
The mayor of Benitatxell, Miguel Ángel García, attended the signing of this agreement, which was attended by the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, the president of the Diputación de Alicante, Toni Pérez, and mayors and representatives of the different municipalities that will be benefited.
Through this agreement, more than 15.5 million euros will be invested in municipalities of Alicante between 2025 and 2028. Specifically, the Valencian government will pay 90% of the cost of the works, while the provincial government will finance the drafting of the construction projects and the management of the works, and 10% of the cost of carrying out the works in the locally-owned sewage treatment plants. In other words, both the drafting of the project and the tendering and execution of the works will be carried out by the Entidad Pública de Saneamiento de Aguas Residuales de la Comunitat Valenciana (EPSAR) and the Diputación.
In total, nine interventions of integral remodelling or partial renovation will be carried out, ten actions of improvement or partial renovation in sewage treatment plants, four actions of supply and replacement of electromechanical equipment, and the adaptation in four stations of the sewage systems.
