During the months of June, July and August, El Poble Nou de Benitatxell will pause, take a breath and taste the moment with “Respira l’estiu”, the cycle of free guided meditations offered by the Councillorship of Tourism as a tourist initiative that respects the environment.
As part of the brand ‘Tourism to breathe. Meditate here’ launched last summer, the goal of this offer is that both local residents and visitors can get to know different parts of the municipality in a different way, with small groups and minimal environmental impact. In addition, the idea is to position Benitatxell as a destination that is committed to combine human, ecological and local wellbeing through this type of activities and other similar ones.
Thus, participants will be able to take an inner journey and enjoy such welcoming and unique places of the municipality as the Raconet, the Moraig cove, the Morro Roabit, the park of Les Fonts or the Pous de l’Abiar. The cycle will start with ‘Breathe El Portalet’ on Friday June 27th, where the meeting place will be the Church Square. All the workshops will take place on Fridays at 7.30pm and will include meditations, simple yoga postures, body awareness exercises, etc.
They will continue in July with “Breathe the Moraig” on the 4th (meeting place: Moraig car parking lot) and with “Breathe the Roabit” on the 18th (meeting place: Thomas Wilson street, next to the bar of the paddle tennis courts). In August, the main stages will be “Breathe Les Fonts” on the 1st (meeting place: Les Fonts park) and “Breathe l’Abiar” on the 22nd (meeting place: Pous de l’Abiar).

“Respira l’estiu” is the continuation of ‘Turismo para respirar. Medítalo aquí’, the tourist brand of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell which is committed to a different kind of tourism, respectful of the environment, traditions and the way of life of the local people. «This resource not only seeks to promote a different kind of tourism, far from overcrowding and in connection with nature, but also meditation goes hand in hand with an ethical component that also needs to be introduced into current tourism. It seeks not only personal wellbeing but also that of the place visited, protecting the cultural and natural patrimony of the destination and respecting the way of life of the local population, taking into consideration their language, traditions, habits and peaceful way of life», explained the councillor of Tourism, Víctor Bisquert.
