Citizen security

The Department of Citizen Security is based on the actions of the Local Police Corps, whose main objective is to protect the exercise of the rights and freedoms of citizens. Among all its functions, the following stand out:

– Ensure the Citizen Safety of the population, both its neighbors and visitors, through surveillance of the urban center, the urbanizations and the entire municipal area
– Protect the authorities of the municipal Corporation and monitor and guard its buildings and facilities.
– Order, signal and direct traffic at the local level, in accordance with traffic rules.
– Carry out administrative police functions, in relation to ordinances, factions and other municipal provisions. And participate in the functions of judicial police.
– Provide help and assistance to citizens in cases of accident, emergency, catastrophe, participating, in the manner provided for in the Laws, in the execution of civil protection plans.
– Carry out prevention measures to avoid the commission of criminal acts within the framework of collaboration established in the security boards.
– Monitor public spaces and collaborate with state and regional security forces to protect, maintain order and security.
– Collaborate and assist the local Civil Protection volunteer corps.
– Cooperate in the resolution of private conflicts if required to do so.

CITIZEN PARTICIPATION

A residents council has been formed that represents the majority of the town. This body is already the residents' interlocutor with the city council and will hold regular meetings with the city council.
