The Councillorship of New Technologies and the IT Department of the Council of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell have organised the first edition of the SmartXell Technological Meeting. This event was born as an initiative intended to promote intermunicipal cooperation and promote innovation at the local level, articulating a safe workspace and direct exchange between political leaders and technical staff of the municipalities of the region and its surroundings.
The main objective of the meeting is to analyse problems shared by local entities, evaluate the latest solutions offered by the technology market and share successful experiences already implemented by other councils.
The Councillor of New Technologies and Digital Transformation, Javi Cabrera, highlighted the relevance of this event for the future of municipalities: «SmartXell is not only a conference on technology, but a necessary meeting point to create a network between municipalities. We want this meeting to be a practical opportunity to share real solutions, coordinate efforts and make our administrations more efficient, safe and closer to citizens».
For his part, the municipal computer technician, Aarón Pastor, explained the origin of the initiative from an internal management perspective: «By attending various trainings and conferences, I realised that practically all the municipalities suffered from the same problems and had the same shortcomings on a day-to-day basis. That is why I proposed to organise a meeting in our municipality, where we are strongly committed to technology, to bring together for the first time in the same space both the political leaders and the technical staff who manage the areas. The idea is to talk clearly about what works and what does not, without fear, and bring reference companies that help us find shared solutions».
The conference will be held on Friday, October 23rd, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at El Puig Building (in front of the Lady Elizabeth School). Attendees will have a coffee break in the same facilities and will later be invited to a meal. Throughout the morning, specialized companies in the technology sector will offer the following presentations on current challenges of public administration:
Registration and information
To guarantee the representation of the maximum possible number of local entities and not exceed the capacity of the venue, a maximum indicative attendance of 4 representatives per council is recommended.

Applications received after this date will continue to be admitted, although they will be subject to the availability of capacity and may not include all the services and benefits associated with the day, such as promotional or welcome material.
