In collaboration with the Councillor of Equality, Isa Garrido, professional photographer Jessica Hooghiemstra carried out a photo shoot with working women from El Poble Nou de Benitatxell as part of the art project ’21 Mujeres’ (21 Women) a few days ago.
This project is intended to represent the first generation of women in the town who combine a professional career with family life, a fact that their mothers generally did not have the opportunity to experience working independently outside the home.
The pictures will be shown in an art exhibition in the Netherlands and later at El Poble Nou de Benitatxell or Xàbia.
