This week, the officers of the Local Police of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell have taken an intensive course on ‘Use of electrical control devices’.
At the same time, the Councillorship of Citizens’ Security, headed by María José Ivars, has acquired new units to provide the entire staff with these devices, which are very effective in dangerous situations.
These devices, which work by emitting a controlled electrical discharge, have proven to be effective in critical situations where a quick and safe response is required. Officers can use them when it is necessary to immobilise violent individuals, detain them or hold them in circumstances where they represent a risk to the physical integrity of third parties.
