Benitatxell celebrates diversity with a spectacular mural by artist Tardor at the Social Centre

‘Un poble, moltes mirades. La diversitat ens fa únics’ (One town, many perspectives. Diversity makes us unique). This is the slogan on the spectacular mural painted by artist Tardor Roselló (Tardor Graffiti) on the side of the façade of the Social Centre, Music School and Adult Education Centre of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell.

This artistic creation, which embellishes a high-traffic pedestrian area in the municipality, was promoted by the Councillorships of Equality and Culture in charge of Isa Garrido and Jorge Pascual, thanks to a subsidy of €4,090.15 from the First Vice-Presidency and Regional Ministry of Social Services, Equality and Housing for the promotion of diversity through urban art.

The mural sensitively captures the cultural and human richness that characterises Benitatxell. At the bottom, a message perfectly sums up the spirit of the work and the municipality’s commitment to coexistence and mutual respect.

‘Our municipality has a significant number of residents from different backgrounds and nationalities who live together and contribute every day to the development of a more plural, open and enriching community. This mural is intended to honour the diversity that unites us and constitutes one of our greatest values,’ said Councillor Isa Garrido.

For his part, Councillor Jorge Pascual highlighted the appreciation of both councillors involved. ‘We would like to thank the artist and everyone who made this project possible, which joins other initiatives to promote inclusion, equality and recognition of all identities.’
