The municipal magazine ‘Al Corrent’ of Benitatxell incorporates ‘El Consultori’, an anonymous consultation space for young people and their families

  • This section seeks to be a safe and non-judgmental place to ask questions about a variety of topics such as mental health, sexuality, affective diversity, studies, equality, employment, etc.

El Poble Nou de Benitatxell’s Council creates a new safe space for young people and their families. Through the municipal magazine ‘Al Corrent’, which is distributed free of charge throughout the municipality on a quarterly basis, the departments of Psychology, Youth and Communication have promoted ‘El Consultori’, a new section for anonymous consultations of any kind.

Addressed to young people between 12 and 30 years old and their families, ‘El Consultori’ seeks to be a safe, anonymous and non-judgmental place to ask questions on various topics such as mental health, sexuality, affective diversity, studies, equality, work, etc., which will be answered by the Psychological Guidance Service of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell and the Youth Department.

For this, a specific area of the website has been created so that all those interested can send in their questions anonymously.

This system will allow the Psychology and Youth departments to monitor and answer the questions first through the anonymous platform and then, if the person concerned gives his or her consent, the questions and answers will be published in the municipal magazine ‘Al Corrent’.

In this first edition of ‘El Consultori’, the section focuses on anxiety, which is increasingly on the rise among young people. Questions such as: Is anxiety a normal emotion? Which are the causes of anxiety? What are the symptoms that can be experienced? How can I control it? The idea is to provide tools and information for those who suffer from anxiety so that they can deal with it in the best possible way.
