Benitatxell will repopulate forest land with holm oaks, olive and carob trees and remove pine trees that have dried out due to lack of rainfall

  • The works will be carried out on an area of 100,000 m² thanks to a subsidy of 25,490 euros from the Conselleria de Medio Ambiente, Infraestructuras y Territorio (Regional Ministry of Environment, Infrastructures and Territory).

El Poble Nou de Benitatxell’s Council has received a subsidy of 25,490 euros from the Conselleria de Medio Ambiente, Infraestructuras y Territorio for the application of sustainable forest management measures within the framework of rural development in the Valencian Community.

The help is directed to the execution of works of clearing of pine forests, selective weeding, pruning and reforestation. Specifically, it will be used to remove dry pine trees as a result of the severe drought and to reforest with holm oaks, olive trees and carob trees.

The works will be carried out in an area of 100,000 m² in the municipal forest lands located in the pine forests of the areas of Poble Alcassar, La Joya and Calistros.
