- It has been decided to go ahead with this event as a sign of support for the company organising the Children’s Rights Fair, which, being from Benetússer, has been affected by the effects of the DANA.
El Poble Nou de Benitatxell is once again celebrating International Children’s Rights Day with a day full of activities for children. On Saturday November 16th, from 10.30am to 2.30pm in the inner playground of the CEIP Santa María Magdalena, the Councillorship of Childhood has prepared a Fair of Children’s Rights, a space with different areas that will have professionals in the field of socio-cultural animation in the different places of activities and services.
Entry to all the activities is completely free of charge. There will be food stalls with popcorn and candyfloss, craft stalls for the creation of a mural for children’s rights, bouncy castles or different types of games such as sack races, the handkerchief game, an XXL jenga, hoops, memory games, tangram, etc. There will also be a space for creating masks, face painting, balloon twisting and ‘The sustainable flowerpot’.
‘This fair is designed so that children not only have fun and play in an inclusive and accessible environment, but also learn important values such as mutual respect and equality, and know their rights as children,’ said the councillor of Childhood and Education, Jorge Pascual.
In addition, the councillor has decided to go ahead with this event in support of the organising company, Culturcrea, which, being from Benetússer, has been affected by the effects of the DANA.
Next week, on Wednesday November 20th, at 7pm at the Social Centre, the councillors of Childhood and Social Services, jointly through the Department of Psychology, have organised the second part of the workshop for families ‘S.O.S Screens’, which was a great success in its first edition last May. Taught by the psychologist Juanjo Sala, a specialist in family management and addictions, it will try to give families the keys and information they need to know on how to deal with screen addiction, a problem that is becoming more and more widespread among children and teenagers.
El Poble Nou de Benitatxell received in 2021 the recognition that accredits it as a ‘Child Friendly City’, a distinction awarded by UNICEF to localities committed to the fulfilment of the rights of children and teenagers in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
