Benitatxell celebrates the International Day of Elderly People with the inauguration of the Memory Workshop

October the 1st marks the International Day of Elderly People. And precisely this Tuesday, at El Poble Nou de Benitatxell the Memory Workshop course began, taught by Adrià Llobell (Reinventa’t Projectes Educatius) and especially addressed to people in this age range.

This is the 8th edition of the workshop, an educational initiative intended to exercise the minds of elderly people, promote active and healthy ageing, as well as to demand education and training to face the challenges posed by today’s society.

The inauguration of the course was attended by the councillor of the Elderly People, Isa Garrido, who welcomed all the participants and thanked the great work of the teacher, Adrià Llobell. ‘I see many veteran faces, and this is a good sign, as it means that people repeat the experience because they see the progress and benefits of the lessons in their minds,’ she said.

She also highlighted the increase in the number of students this year, with a total of 15 people enrolled. It is worth remembering that there are still places available, so if there is anyone interested they can attend the Municipal Library on Tuesdays at 9:30am or go to the Social Services Department.
