As every October 9th, the day of the Valencians, the streets of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell will be filled with associations and fellowship. This year, the councillorships of Culture and Festivities, together with the different local associations, have prepared a varied and powerful programme, with the main event being a concert by Colla La Llebetjà, which this year celebrates its 15th anniversary.
To warm up, the Festeros of 2025 have organised an evening with food and drink service on Tuesday October 8th. It will start at 8pm on La Pau street with a performance by the charanga la Electrika, and at 11pm the DJ Kiko.br will be in charge until 2am. Also, the balconies on La Pau street will host an exhibition on Tuesday and Wednesday to commemorate the ‘100 d’Estellés’ which has been prepared by the students and the AMPA of the CEIP Santa María Magdalena.
The main day, October 9th, is dedicated to the associations of El Poble Nou. It will start at 11:00 o’clock with games for the youngest ones and the tombola ‘Siempre toca’, organised by the Women’s Association, on La Pau street, where all the activities of the day will be held, except for the concert by La Colla.
At 11:30am, the Band of El Poble Nou will offer a parade and then, at 12:15pm, the concert of La Colla La Llebetjà will take place at Les Pesqueres square to celebrate its 15th anniversary as an association. They will perform, together with the collaboration of the Parish Choir, the Grup de Danses Morro Falquí and the band of El Poble Nou, the show ‘1238. Chronicle of a dream’, which tells the story of King James I.
To regain strength, the festeros and festeras of 2025 will offer a popular meal of Valencian paella. Tickets, priced at 12 euros, will be available at the casal festero on October 1st and 3rd, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The meal includes a drink, picaeta, rice dish and typical sweets.
The after-dinner entertainment will begin at 3:30 p.m. with a musical performance by Toni Català, organised by the Association of Retired People and Pensioners. Later, at 5:30 pm, the festeros have organised an afternoon of bingo, and the Grup de Danses Morro Falquí will offer a snack of horchata and fartons at popular prices from 6:00 pm onwards.
